Safe Haven By Nicholas Sparks

When a mysterious young woman named Katie appears in the small North Carolina town of Southport, her sudden arrival arises questions about her past. Beautiful, yet self-effacing, Katie seems determined to avoid forming personal ties until a series of events draws her into reluctant relationships: one with Alex, a widowed store owner with a kind heart and two young children; and another with her plainspoken single neighbor, Jo. Despite her reservations, Katie slowly begins to let down her guard, putting down roots in the close-knit community and becoming increasingly attached to Alex and his family.
But even as Katie being to fall in love, she struggles with a dark secret that still haunts and terrifies her... a past that set her on a fearful, shattering journey across the country, to the sheltered oasis of Southport.
With Jo's empathetic and stubborn support, Katie eventually realizes that she must choose between a life of transient safety and one of riskier rewards... and that in the darkest hour; love truly is the only safe haven.

Nicholas Sparks has yet done it again. With this book, Katie, the heroine, has proven that even at your lowest point, even when you thought that you're all alone, love truly conquers all.

I can relate to this book quite closely as a similar thing has happened at some point in my life. When you feel like your getting the worst treatment in the world and you have no one to blame but yourself, this book will teach you how to feel good about yourself and to accept the mistakes that you've made and move on for the better.

This book made me realize the strength in me and not to wallow in self-blame and self-pity but instead try to do something for yourself instead of being subjected to the suffering.
